Welcome to Cartplate! These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Cartplate mobile application (“the App”). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
You must be at least 13 years old to use Cartplate. If you are under 18, you should have a parent or legal guardian’s permission to use the App.
Cartplate does not require an account to use the App. If you choose to sign in with Apple, your data syncs across your devices via your private iCloud account. We do not maintain user accounts on our own servers.
You are responsible for keeping your Apple ID secure.
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Cartplate on devices you own or control, for personal, non-commercial purposes, subject to these Terms and Apple’s standard End User License Agreement.
Some features of Cartplate may be available through paid subscription plans (Pro and Family). Subscription details, including pricing, billing period, and auto-renewal, are presented in the App at the point of purchase.
If subscriptions are not yet active in your version of the App, all features are provided free of charge.
Anything you create in Cartplate — grocery lists, recipes, meal plans, pantry items, photos, notes — belongs to you. We do not claim ownership of any of your content.
Your content is stored locally on your device and, if you sign in with Apple, synced through your private iCloud account using CloudKit. We do not have access to your content.
You are responsible for any content you create and share through the App.
If you create or join a household in Cartplate, your selected content (grocery lists, pantry, recipes, meal plans) is shared with other members of that household through Apple’s CloudKit shared zone.

Recipes, ingredient information, cooking instructions, and meal suggestions provided by or imported into the App are for personal use only. We do not guarantee the accuracy of recipes, nutritional information, ingredients, or cooking instructions.
Always exercise reasonable judgment when preparing food, particularly regarding allergens, dietary restrictions, food safety, and cooking times. Consult a qualified medical or nutrition professional for dietary advice.
The Cartplate name, logo, design, and software are owned by Tyler Kriney. You may not use the Cartplate brand or trademarks without prior written permission.
The App, including all its features and functionality, is and remains our exclusive property.
THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE FROM HARMFUL COMPONENTS.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP.
Our total liability for any claims relating to the App will not exceed the amount you have paid us in the past 12 months, or $10, whichever is greater.
You may stop using the App at any time. You can delete the App from your device, and your local data goes with it. To remove iCloud-synced data, sign out of iCloud or remove the App’s data from your iCloud settings.
We reserve the right to terminate your access to the App, with or without notice, for any breach of these Terms or for any reason.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we’ll update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state of residence of the developer, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions.
